Does S245D1 (70g Top-coated Thermal Paper) with Adhesive code confirmed per order (type not yet classified) adhesive bond to frozen cartons and chilled packs without a primer, and does it still hold on our own substrate?

70g Top-coated Thermal Paper is specified for the cold chain & fresh food field, which does not mean every substrate in it. Direct thermal prints without a ribbon, but heat, sunlight and plasticiser contact keep developing the coating. Not recommended for PVC surfaces; small diameters, irregular or squeezable bottles.

At what temperature do we apply S245D1 (70g Top-coated Thermal Paper, Adhesive code confirmed per order (type not yet classified)), and what can it take afterwards, and does that hold at our line temperature?

The minimum application temperature is -15 °C and the service range after labelling is -35–65 °C. Below the minimum the adhesive cannot wet out, and edges lift within hours on a curved wall. Both figures are measured at 23±2 °C / 50±5 % RH, so confirm them with a trial roll on your line.

Initial tack is ≥8 N by the ball method and 90° peel is ≥5 N/25 mm after 20 min. Both are measured to FINAT FTM 9 and FTM 2 at 23±2 °C / 50±5 % RH. Peel grows with dwell, so compare the same hold time against your own pull test.

Minimum order quantity is 500 ㎡ and lead time is 15 days after artwork and roll-format approval. A trial roll for press approval can be arranged before the production run starts. Shipment is ex-works Guangzhou, and it can be consolidated with other codes on the same order.

We used SR0041 before. What changes if we switch to S245D1 (70g Top-coated Thermal Paper), and is one a drop-in for the other?

S245D1 runs Adhesive code confirmed per order (type not yet classified) adhesive on 62g White Glassine Liner, while SR0041 runs Low-tack Removable on 62g White Glassine Liner. The difference is the adhesive chemistry, which decides edge lift and high-speed behaviour more than the face does.
